The complications of a job seeking smoker
There is no doubt that smokers face difficulty in landing a job. When they manage to get it, they struggle to keep it. More often than not, employers would eliminate a prospective employee if such an employee indicates a smoking habit. This is because, employers try to limit their liabilities as much as possible. It is a known fact that smokers are liable to die young, most employers try to keep themselves out of this mess.
On the other hand, if a smoker manages to pass medical tests and is recruited for a job, they usually have trouble keeping the job. Smoking is an habit that smokers can beat, they tend to indulge themselves at the slightest lunch break. A smoker is most likely going to develop problems with a non-smoker fellow employee. This is because smoking is an habit that stinks and smokers have this foul odor hanging around them all the time. In no time a smoker would start having issues in every department in the organization. Non-smokers most often than not detest smokers. In the long run the smoker would have to resign from such a job when personal issues with co-workers become unbearable.
